Fall is Just Around the Corner

Though you would never know it by the 90 degree temp. due this afternoon. But the Black Walnut tree is losing it's leaves. It is the tree that loses it's leaves first in this area. Was a little early and the recent rain has put it on hold a little but the beginning is here.. The green black walnuts on the ground play havoc with my mowing. Have moved the mower deck up a notch hight to miss them. Thinking of taking a bucket and picking some up as a new form of exercise. Will get gas today and mow the back 40.

I feel so sorry for the people on the gulf coast having to deal with Katrina. Sure hope not many, if any, deaths. The surge will be the roughest with the rain and all the water that surrounds New Orleans. Will the levees hold? Wind at my friends place in Gulfport will be the "bad guy" there.

Took Mom's Buick in to be serviced. Probably had not been done in years, but, of course, had not been driven much over the past 5 years. Since she does not drive, think she would just as soon leave it set but I have started using it once a week just to keep it going. Might as well.

Comments always welcome.
