In the Hills

Hill Country time flys by too! Been here since Tuesday and it is almost time to head back to San Antonio. Having a great time. My friend took yesterday off and we went junking and out to lunch. A late dinner on the front porch watching the dark creep up from the hills so all the stars finally popped out in the sky. What a sight. Good food, good company and great star gazing.

Already

time to get the bags packed and things straightened out in the truck. Yuk..Won't be leaving until Monday but my friends will get in some time tomorrow.

I did catch up with the one friend last night. She had not read her email in a week and does a regular Friday night thing with friends so I joined them for a bit before my dinner meeting.

Dinner was an absolute delight. A new "funky" place in town. The decor super eclectic and the food a visual feast for the eyes along with being wonderful on the palate! What a treat.

Funny

how time flys..any more it seems turbo charged except when I am in Nebraska.
Have tried to contact a friend here and for some reason hasn't happened. Not sure what is going on.
I do have dinner plans for Friday night. No, not the ex s.o...I use to manage a B & B here and caught up with the owner yesterday. Had heard her husband recently passed away so we are going to play catch up.
The grass is so wet will have to wait a little before trying to mow but I see thunderheads in the distance. Just hope they don't boom around here.
Don't know if Mom's other daughter showed up yesterday or not. Can't decide whether to call there or one of the nephew's. Guess I will think about that "later".

Sigh

Well, I have decided it is not a good thing to see the ol' s.o. I did pretty good remaining neutral but it is a hard job. More effort than I want to put in. On the plus side he did get the off the wall oil I needed and did the windshield wiper repair, which saved me the big bucks, but the rest of it is in the "here you go again" realm and it is better I do not do that. You'd think I would know better!! "sigh"

Life at the Coast

Cannot believe just how much it has rained here on the Texas coast. About 12 inches in the past 5 days. I know the mosquitoes will be around in droves.

Got a call from the ex s.o. (he is getting me some special oil that I finally ran out of in NE.) wondering if I would like to go to Refugio for an outdoor show last night. Said I might if I could get the horses up. Well, that never happened and I did call him back and say I wouldn't be able to go. Was rather looking forward to it but sometimes ones duties interfer.

My friends did get on the road yesterday at noon. They will fly out of Houston today for Boston and then rent a car and meet up with sister, sister-in-law and the families for their week at the beach in Maine. Sounds like fun, especially the LOBSTER part.

My plan when I leave here is to probably go to Hunt for the next week. I could go into all the rather yucky family stuff in San Antonio but it makes for too long of a story.
One more problem with the Baby Truck. I did get the inspection sticker and right in the middle of driving in town during some rain was the windshield wiper motor quit. So have that to get fixed. At least I have three other vehicles here I can use until I get it done.

At the Coast

Finally am down at the old stomping grounds. Having lots of rain but I don't care. It feels like home again.

My offical duties start Thursday but didn't realize I was expected to be on semi-duty today. Yep, forgot to feed the pig!! oh, well, he didn't starve by any means. The horses are being kept in the barn by the house so that is mighty convienent. I am looking forward to my hiatus here. Went by the local thift store and did see someone I knew and I just by passed her. Right now, don't want to talk to anyone except my friends!
