On Track

Still planning on leaving Friday morning. The latest thing was Mom had a tooth break yesterday morning. Took her to the dentist and we made the decision as long as it is not bothering her to do nothing at this time. He did take an X-ray and no abscess. Broke off right at the gum line.

She is getting mad that I am leaving but I have to as who knows what things will be like when I return. I shudder at the thought and need to ignore it so I can enjoy my month off!

Lots of rain down the pike between here and OK City so will have to watch the weather for sure.

The Spurs are hanging in, hope they pull off the Western Conference title tonight but I am sure the Jazz will put up quite a fight.

My niece did show up on Sat. before noon and we had a good time. Mom knew who she was which was great, and enjoyed seeing her.

We went to Crete to eat dinner Sat. evening and met her brothers there as that was the only way they would get to see her. Her Mom irritated her on Friday so she did not ask her to come nor told her she was coming on out.

Man Plans, God Laughs

Mom took another fall (caught her toe on the door threshold) and now has a broken left arm. Not as bad break as last year when she did the right side but still rough for anyone, much less a 94 year old. Depending on how things go, I may keep to my plan to leave on the 1st of June. She would have been over at the hospital anyway, I just hate that it is this way.

DIL's mother died last Tues. and the funeral was today. Sure hope this stuff is not running in threes.

My niece may come out this weekend and may bring Mom's other daughter. Will be surprised if she comes but since she would not have to drive...maybe????? I don't want her here but it isn't about me, as Mom would love to see her and that is what's important at this point in time. (don't cha just love that phrase? LOL)

Baby Steps

Finally figured out how to burn a music CD that would actually play. Now I need to get back to working on sending an iMovie to iDVD so it will play in the DVD player of the TV. Maybe another baby step there. I'm afraid I won't be much help to my daughter but she has access to a couple of experts at her work so she should get the reunion DVD done OK.

This afternoon is Library day for me. Three books to go back. Today the hours are from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Always have to stop and figure out what day it is for a Library trip.

Sure am tired today. Feel like my old truck. Mileage is getting up there, dents, nicks and wearing out of parts.

Heard from the ex s.o. the other evening. Got the report on the scooter ride at Bastrop. That is one of my favorite rides. They only had twelve scooters this time. Usually between 20 and 30.

Darn

Started a post and thought I saved it to draft. Can't find it so guess not.

Going to take in an auction this evening. Have to go through getting the sitter for an hour, to take care of Mom's supper.

Been working on a ton of lists for the Texas Trip and Family Reunion. I am so ready to be out of here. This is the longest time I have spent and I can sure tell it. Super CRABBY.

Had the truck serviced and he did not find anything to "fix" so hope it stays that way.

One of my kiddos got me another dutch oven for Mother's day. Now I will have two 14" deep ones. Maybe I will end up doing some DO catering some day. smile

Two Whole Mornings

I have gotten my butt out the door and walked. Now, it is not much but it is a start. Did one big block yesterday that encompasses two streets one way and an additional two streets the other way. This morning I added an additional 2 regular blocks. Had gone back to some weight training last week. Maybe this will help my attitude..God knows it needs it.

Have an auction lined up for tomorrow and a "sitter" to bring lunch in for Mom and stay a few hours. Just like the old "gotta clean up the house before the maid arrives" I need to dust and vacuum before the sitter comes..LOL
