I had not tried morel mushrooms before so this was a delightful new experience while in Michigan. We had these fresh along with dried porcine (sp) mushrooms that had been purchased from Oregon Mushroom site. They were wonderful also!

Here I have been back since Sunday (well, Sunday evening) and my duffle and ditty bag right where I dropped them. You would think things would be put up by now...yeah, that's what the neat freaks would think. I did have the dirty clothes in a separate bag and they have been washed and put up but the clean stuff just sits. It's as though the bag really wants to go again. sigh

The only good thing about unpacking is I need to put the winter type items away and get out the shorts and tee shirts and repack for Texas in July. That is the plan anyway.

Ready

Five more days before I can become a hermit again...I am ready!! LOL We leave Michigan today and head for Kentucky. Back to Oklahoma on Friday and up to Nebraska on Sunday. At least I think that is the plan. It has been a good break but I am ready for quiet time. smile

So Far, So good

So far, adjusting the mental attitude is working. One more week to go. The break is great and the count down to Texas is continuing. Michigan is green and cold, though, but doing OK with it.

OK

I am packed. Hoped nothing changes..lol

The Kids

are really pushing for me to go anyway...with everything in place, it sure is tempting.

Ratz & Fratz

The pickup in Kentucky is off...now what to do. Go anyway and have the long ride home from OK???hmmmm..then to top things off, thought I felt verigo coming on but have taken decongestants and antihistamine in hopes of heading it off. Feels as though the meds are working.

Gettin' Done

Mowed the back 40 again, after doing it last Sunday. This time was able to drop the deck to the #3 position. I know it will be tall when I get back but had to knock the dandelions down one more time.
The dentist could not find a problem so another $30 bucks down the drain for a single exray . I am beginning to believe the nerves just super sensitive when my sinuses go on the rampage.
Looking forward to a trip to Lincoln tomorrow. Will finish up shredding and I think I will pack today so will be in good shape with chores..starting to get a little excited about a road trip.

Two of My

least favorite things. The dentist early this morning and mammogram just before noon. What a bummer!

Looks like plans for the Michigan trip are pretty much in place. Hope it all goes well. I am working on my attitude as I type.

If I get a chance, will do another mowing job on the back 40. It has rained once since I mowed last Sunday.

My nephew and his wife will come late Mothers Day and the kids should be here so we can eat by 5:30 or so. That's the plan but gotta stay flexible.

Got it DONE

Whoooeee, got the back 40 done..what a chore. It was as dry as it was gonna get so did the whole thing. Never did get the showers last night but misty and wet this morning so glad I did not wait. Had to move the deck up to the #5 position. Now, if it stays dry, will try to mow one more time before leaving for MI. At least going to MI is in the plans, at this point time.

The Spurs squeaked by the Mavs, but, hey, a win is a win. They only had 36 hours from their last game which included a flight back from CA., while the Mavs had rested since Tues. and only had to go from Dallas to SA.

Things are sorted out in the closet and I have an idea of what I will pack. Sure hope this goes OK.

Was going to speak to the DIL from Hades yesterday but after I finished talking to my daughter and asked to speak to her, found out she was in the shower.

Talked to another DIL and things were better there. She is married to #2 son who is "over there in the desert" and career Army. She told me a horrible story about a neighbor whose house was forclosed on. She left 2 dogs inside. She should be hung up by her thumbs for a very long time.

Next Round

At least the SA Spurs advanced to the second round of the playoffs and the Lakers did not.
Yesterday I took a tub of "better" junkque to a consignment place in York. Hopefully some of it will sell. Then stopped by another consignment place where I had spotted some stems and thought I knew what they were. After checking them out via Replacements, Ltd., I was there to buy them. Hopefully will make a few $$ as I was able to buy them "right".
My next stop was at a graduation party and I stayed about an hour. Then back to the house.
I have mentioned to Mom I may go to Michigan with the kids. She at least has learned not to say, "no, you won't". I am wondering, tho, if I can take 10 days around people..lol.
Still did not get the mowing done. It has been way to wet to run the riding mower. The fellow who does the front yard did not try to bag grass as he usually does because of how wet it has been. I may try to get part of it done this afternoon if the sun will come out. There is a possibility of rain later tonight. BUT, will have to watch the first round of the Spurs vs. Mavs which starts at noon.

Pass and No Pass

Kennedy gets a pass from the press and Rush doesn't? I am not a fan of either but, geez, I can spell bias.

Fast

Just received word from Corpus my friend MaryJo passed away last night. The one where they could not find the origin of her cancer. Sure was fast, but the way some cancers and their treatments are, maybe best. Guess we don't have any choice, anway.

Wasn't Too Bad

Mom finally said she would ride to Lincoln. Of course, once at my nephews, she stated she can't visit since she doesn't hear well and kept giving me the "I want to leave" looks. So only stayed about an hour.

Looks like there might be a plan in place for me to make the trip to Michigan with the kids and be able to get back here without them making an extra 800 mile trip. That would be nice if it would work out.

I stopped for some Mexican food to go on the way back. Hopefully that will take care of the craving for a while!
